Welcome! I am an evolutionary ornithologist and NSF Postdoctoral Fellow, co-advised in the Shultz Lab in the Ornithology Department at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (NHMLAC) and the Aguillon Lab in the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Department at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). I am a museum-trained evolutionary biologist and broadly interested in avian evolution, particularly in drivers of rapid phenotypic and species diversification. I approach this by incorporating specimen-based fieldwork, natural history, and next-generation genomic tools to generate phylogenetic trees for comparative analyses to understand the relationship between genes, traits, and the environment.
